Pet-Friendly Lodge Holidays at Sherwood Forest Park

Finding a genuinely dog-friendly holiday is harder than it should be. Many places technically allow pets but make you feel like you're getting away with something. At Sherwood Forest Park, dogs are properly part of the picture.

Why Sherwood works for dogs

The location is the obvious answer. Ancient woodland, open countryside and miles of footpaths right outside the park mean dogs get a proper holiday too — not just a walk around a car park. Sherwood Forest itself is a vast, rambling network of trails through oak woodland that most dogs will consider paradise.

The lodges

A good selection of our Sherwood lodges are pet-friendly, with enclosed decking areas and easy access to the surrounding grounds. They're well set up for dogs — no precious carpets or fragile interiors to worry about.

Nearby walks worth doing

  • The Sherwood Forest Country Park trails — waymarked routes through ancient oak woodland, the Major Oak at the centre
  • River Trent walks from Newark — flat, easy and great for dogs who like water
  • Clumber Park (National Trust) — a vast parkland estate nearby with lakeside walks and a walled kitchen garden

Practical notes

We ask that pets are not left unattended in the lodges and that you bring their usual bedding. Beyond that, they're as welcome as you are.
