What to Pack for a UK Lodge Holiday

One of the best things about a lodge holiday is how low-maintenance it is. Bed linen and towels are included, kitchens are fully equipped, and there's no need to dress for dinner. But there are a few things that will make your stay noticeably better.

The essentials

  • Swimwear — obvious if you're using a hot tub, but easy to forget when packing for a countryside break
  • Warm layers for evenings outside — even in July, British evenings can be fresh once the sun drops
  • Walking boots or trail shoes — most lodges are set in parkland or near coastal paths
  • A good waterproof — this is England, after all

Nice to have

  • A bluetooth speaker — set the mood in the hot tub or on the decking
  • Binoculars — particularly if you're near the coast or in a wildlife-rich area like Norfolk
  • Board games or cards — for evenings when you're perfectly content not going anywhere
  • A decent bottle of something — the lodges come with a bar area but BYOB is always the right call

What you don't need to pack

All of our lodges come with towels, bed linen, duvets, a fully equipped kitchen and central heating. Don't waste suitcase space on these.

The main thing to bring is a willingness to slow down. Lodge holidays work best when you're not rushing anywhere.
